Entrance Examination for Ph.D Courses
Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS) is an autonomous super-specialty institute of excellence under the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. The vision of ILBS is to be a global leader by becoming a beacon of patient care, teaching, and research in the field of Liver and Biliary diseases and allied disciplines. The Deemed-to-be-University status was conferred to ILBS by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. The Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS) is running National Medical Commission (NMC) recognized super-specialty Post-Doctoral Degree Courses in Hepatobiliary.
The institute is inviting applications for the entrance examination for Ph.D courses for the academic session starting from 01st July 2025, as per the details given below:

10# | NET qualified candidates with JRF Fellowship (Category-1 as per NET).
Applicants who have cleared a national level examination like CSIR/UGC-NET JRF, DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF need to appear for a Direct Interview. (Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Zoology, Microbiology) or a Professional degree (MBBS, Master Degree in Medical or Dental Sciences, M.Tech. M.Pharma M.V.Sc, declared equivalent to Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory body. Candidates should have secured minimum 60% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade as per UGC rules.) |

NET Seats – NET with JRF Fellowship qualified candidates are exempted from written examination and eligible to appear for Interview.
Non-NET Seats – Non-NET candidates need to appear in written examination followed by Departmental Assessment/Interview.
Duration of the Course: Ph.D – 3-5 years duration
