Position: Project Associate-I

Essential Qualifications: Masters Degree in Natural Sciences from a recognized University or equivalent

Basic Salary: 28000/35000 and HRA

Experience Required in Months: 0

Work Description: The candidate will perform wet lab experiments focused on CRISPR-based approaches to target antimicrobial resistance (AMR). Responsibilities include designing CRISPR constructs, bacterial culture, plasmid preparation, transformation, gene editing, screening of edited and environmental strains, and phenotypic assays. The candidate will also assist in optimizing protocols, maintaining lab records, and analyzing experimental data. Experience with molecular biology techniques such as PCR, cloning, gel electrophoresis, and sequencing is essential.

Desirable Qualification: Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Microbiology, or a related field. Hands-on experience with CRISPR systems, molecular cloning, bacterial genetics, and antimicrobial assays is required. Strong skills in sterile technique, plasmid construction, and bacterial transformation are essential. Familiarity with antibiotic resistance mechanisms is a plus. The candidate should be highly motivated, detail-oriented, capable of troubleshooting experiments, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Work Description: The candidate will analyse microbiome sequencing data using bioinformatic tools and pipelines. Tasks include processing raw data, performing taxonomic and functional profiling, and conducting statistical and comparative analyses. Responsibilities also involve developing or adapting scripts for data visualization, integrating multi-omics datasets, and interpreting biological significance. Strong skills in metagenomic analysis, command-line tools, and programming (Python/R) are essential. Experience with microbial ecology concepts and databases like or KEGG will be highly valued.

Desirable Qualification: Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Microbiology, or a related field. Strong experience in microbiome data analysis, including metagenomics and 16S rRNA sequencing. Proficiency in bioinformatics tools (QIIME, DADA2, MetaPhlAn) and programming languages (Python, R). Familiarity with microbial taxonomy databases and functional annotation (KEGG, COG). Good understanding of microbial ecology and statistical analysis. Ability to manage large datasets, work independently, and communicate results clearly in written and oral formats

Position: Project Research Scientist I

Work Description: Lung cancer accounts for 11.3% of all new cancers in men in India. It is diagnosed at advanced stages when treatment options are limited. Early diagnosis remains a gap and is a pressing need. Hence, biomarkers for appropriate diagnosis and exact prognosis of lung cancer need urgent attention. The study will employs high throughput RNA sequencing approach using lung cancer patient’s samples (bronchoscopy tissue, blood, urine sample and exhaled breath) as well as in-vitro analysis to identify potential miRNA(s) as biomarkers for lung cancer.

Desirable Qualification: cell culture, basic molecular biology technical knowledge, western blotting, sequencing
