Job Description:
As a Biospecimen Lead, Manager at BMS in Hyderabad, you will play a critical role in the strategic development and meticulous implementation of comprehensive biospecimen management plans for our vital clinical trials and acquired biospecimens. You will be an integral part of a collaborative team, working closely with both internal and external partners to effectively execute these strategies, proactively manage project timelines, and ultimately ensure a significant competitive advantage for BMS in the pharmaceutical industry.
Key Responsibilities of a Biospecimen Lead, Manager at BMS:
- Take ownership and expertly manage the complete lifecycle of biospecimens throughout the duration of our clinical studies, from initial collection to final disposition.
- Coordinate all aspects of sample movement and logistical management, including the meticulous generation and maintenance of detailed inventory reports and serving as the primary point of contact for external vendors involved in biospecimen handling.
- Conduct thorough reviews of clinical study protocols, providing valuable feedback and ensuring optimal biospecimen management considerations are integrated into the study design.
- Develop and maintain sophisticated biospecimen trackers utilizing a variety of relevant tools and platforms to ensure accurate and efficient data management.
Qualifications of a Biospecimen Lead, Manager at BMS:
- A minimum of 4-5 years of progressive experience in biospecimen management within academic research, the biotech industry, or the pharmaceutical industry.
- A strong understanding of the principles and practices of clinical research, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), and relevant regulatory requirements governing biospecimen handling.
- Demonstrated practical experience in the execution of clinical trials or within a laboratory setting, with direct exposure to biospecimen processing and management.
- Proven experience in effective vendor management, including the selection, oversight, and relationship management of external biospecimen service providers.
- Educational Requirements: A scientific degree (Associate’s, Bachelor’s, Master’s, or higher) in a relevant field such as biology, biochemistry, or a related life science discipline, or equivalent demonstrable experience in biospecimen management.
Travel: Minimal travel will be required, typically ranging from 0% to 5% of the time, primarily for essential meetings or site visits, as necessary.
