Purpose of the Role
Assistant Editors play an essential role in the manuscript ‘submission to acceptance’ process, overseeing tasks such as conducting suitability checks
, finding and assigning EBMs, and managing communication with editors, reviewers, and authors.Responsibilities
- Perform enhanced Quality Checks (Suitability Assessment) on manuscripts
- Responsible for managing the Journal pipeline and processing manuscripts
- Invite EBMs to handle the manuscript, OR assign manuscripts to an appropriate handling editor
- Support Editors throughout the process
- Handle email correspondence between the various parties involved
- Assess the decision recommendation of the Handling Editors
- Monitor progress throughout the review process
- Mentor and support new team members
- Provide inputs on process improvement

Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Experience: 2 years of experience with a minimum of 1 year in Scientific Publishing
Skills:
- Good Communication Skills, Email etiquette
- Subject matter expertise (STEM)– Medicine/Life/Physical Science/Engineering
- Strong analytical and logical reasoning ability
- Customer service and business communication experience
- Experience in Manuscript handling will be an added advantage
Qualifications: Master’s degree or equivalent in a related field
Eligibility: 12 months in the current role is a requirement before applying for this position
