Online Applications are invited on or before 15.03.2025 for the following vacancies for the Multidisciplinary Research Unit (MRU) funded by the Department of Health Research, to be filled on a purely temporary basis at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, New Delhi. All applications will be screened, and only shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview. Shortlisted candidates will be informed regarding the details of the interview later.
Name of the Post & Place of Posting: Scientist (Non-Medical) at VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital
Consolidated Salary: ₹56,000/- Plus HRA as applicable
Essential Qualification
- First class postgraduate degree in Microbiology/Medical Genetics/Molecular Biology from a recognized university.
- OR Second class postgraduate degree in Microbiology/Medical Genetics/Molecular Biology with a PhD in the relevant subject from a recognized university.
Desirable
- One-year experience of working in research.
- Experience in basic laboratory techniques, molecular biology, cancer biology, and immunohistochemistry and interpretation of results.
- Computer applications/Data Management , including experience in data analysis.
Age Limit: 35 Years
Duration: Six months (Further extension depending upon performance of the candidate)
Job Responsibilities
- Thorough knowledge of basic laboratory techniques, molecular biology, cancer biology, and immunohistochemistry.
- Interpretation of results.
- Maintenance of all records and laboratory upkeep.
- Execution and supervision of research work, including analysis and report writing.
- Coordination between DHR and MRU and within the institution.
- Preparation of proposals and any other work assigned by the Nodal Officer from time to time.
- Candidate may be required to do field visits or training as per requirement.
Not less than 2 research publications (accepted) in indexed scientific journals.

- Qualification/degree should be from a reputed Institution/University.
- Mere fulfilling the essential qualification/experience does not guarantee selection.
- Canvassing in any form will be a disqualification.
- No TA/DA will be paid either for attending the interview or joining the post.
- Persons already in regular time scale service under any Government Department/Organizations are not eligible.
- Written test in the subject area will be held, if required, to shortlist candidates for selection depending upon the number of candidates.
- It may be mentioned here that incomplete applications, applications not submitted in prescribed format, and applications without supportive documents asked for shall be summarily rejected.
- The Appointing authority has the right to accept/reject any application without assigning any reason, and no correspondence in this matter will be entertained.

- If the candidate is not eligible, his/her candidature may be cancelled at any stage of the recruitment process. If the candidate qualifies in the selection process and subsequently, it is found that he/she does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, his/her candidature will be cancelled, and if appointed, services so obtained will be terminated without any notice or compensation.

- The above post(s) are purely on a contractual basis, and the candidate will have no right to claim any type of permanent employment under DHR/VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital or continuation of his/her services in any other project.
