Job Opportunity: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Bangalore, Karnataka, India
Position Summary:
The Senior Data Engineer, Translational Data Services, will be crucial in implementing, maintaining, and monitoring data standards within Precision Medicine Group’s laboratory services unit. This position focuses on supporting the delivery of high-quality data to clients through developing and executing custom data processing pipelines.
Essential Functions:
- Create production-level source code for biomarker data management
- Collaborate with the lab team to develop and maintain custom data processing pipelines
- Build data pipelines for cleaning, transforming, and aggregating data from various sources
- Support data transfer agreements and specifications
- Perform source code validation and testing
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on technical matters
- Advocate for best practices and mentor junior team members
Qualifications:
Minimum Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in data management, Bioinformatics, Data Science, or related field
- 6 years of relevant working experience with a Bachelor’s degree or 3 years with a Master’s degree
Additional qualifications include proficiency in programming languages, data visualization tools, AWS ecosystem, version control systems, Linux, and excellent communication skills.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to solve problems and collaborate effectively
- Experience with LIMS systems
- Strong communication, teamwork, and time management skills
- Fluency in English
