About Team: Protein Biology
The Protein Biology team at Thermo Fisher Scientific is dedicated to large-scale functional validation of antibodies, focusing on reagent quality and specificity. The team’s core activities include data mining, Western blotting, immuno-fluorescence imaging, immunohistochemistry, ChIP, and gene-silencing to enhance the antibody portfolio.
Role & Responsibilities
Contribute to antibody validation workflow, understand target biology validation, and validate antibodies for reproducibility using innovative methods. Ensure timely delivery and efficient experimental planning and
execution.- Acquire and utilize knowledge on key aspects of protein biology for antibody validation
- Informal leadership of scientists in a matrix-style operation
- Drive conceptualization within teams for successful protocol development
Education & Experience Levels:
- PhD in molecular biology, immunology, biotechnology or biochemistry with 4 to 5 years’ experience, or
- Master’s degree with 5 to 10 years of experience
Skills:
- Familiar with experimental workflow in cell and molecular biology
- Proven experience in immunoassays such as Western blotting, Immunofluorescence, Immunohistochemistry
- Communication of research data and providing expert-level technical troubleshooting
