Applications are invited to attend a walk-in interview for the post of Senior Research Fellow (SRF) available at ICAR-IARI, Regional Station, Wellington, under the ongoing and approved CRP project entitled “Development and evaluation of high yielding and nutrient-rich Oats variety for value addition”

Post: Senior Research Fellow (SRF) (Up to 30th June 2026 or the end of the project)
Number of Positions: One
Emoluments: Rs. 37,000/- + HRA per month
Essential Qualifications:
- Post Graduate Degree in Professional Course (Master’s degree in Genetics / Plant Breeding / Genetics and Plant Breeding / Agricultural Biotechnology) with a 4/5 years Bachelor’s degree
- OR Post Graduate Degree in Basic Sciences (Plant Sciences / Plant Biotechnology)
- Those with 3 years Bachelor’s & 2 years Master’s degree should have NET qualifications and 2 years of research experience as mentioned in SR/S9/Z-09/2018 (30 January 2019) and DST/PCPM/Z-06/2022 (26 June 2023) of DST.
Desirable: Experience in crop breeding, MAB, use of bioinformatics tools, field phenotyping, handling of field crops, and knowledge of computer applications.

Terms and Conditions:
- Age Limit: Maximum age is 35 years for Senior Research Fellow (SRF) with age relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST & women and 3 years for OBC. The minimum age should be 18 years as of the date of the interview.
- The post is purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis for one year or until the project’s termination, whichever is earlier.
- The selected candidate shall not claim regular appointment at this Institute, as the post is co-terminus with the project.
- The walk-in interview for eligible candidates will be held on 7th April 2025 at 11:00 AM.
- Candidates must compulsorily fill in the application form (as per the format annexed), attach scanned copies of all certificates from matriculation onwards, date of birth certificate, NET/equivalent certificate, degree certificate (original or provisional), and a recent photograph enclosed onto the scanned application form. Proof of experience and publications must also be submitted via email. The selected candidate must produce all original documents and a medical certificate at the time of joining.
- No TA/DA or any other expenses will be paid for attending the interview.
- Only candidates meeting essential qualifications will be interviewed.
- Concealing facts or canvassing in any form will lead to disqualification or termination of the candidate.
- If a candidate’s near or distant relative is an employee of ICAR/IARI, they must declare their name, designation, nature of duties, and relationship in writing. If such a declaration is not made, and the candidate is found to have a relative employed at ICAR/IARI, they will not be allowed to appear for the interview.
