Project Positions

1. JRF – NPCA Project

• Number of Posts: 1
• Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Life Sciences/ Biochemistry with 60% marks
• Desirable: Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience in DNA extraction, PCR, and sequence analysis
• Monthly Remuneration: ₹20,000 (Consolidated)
• Maximum Age Limit: 28 years
• Primary Duties: Laboratory and field work related to fecal coliform monitoring, microbial community analysis, and computational analysis of sequence data

2. JRF – NPCA Project

• Number of Posts: 1
• Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Microbiology/Life Sciences/ Bioinformatics with 60% marks
• Desirable: Minimum 1 year of laboratory experience in bacterial culturing, microbiological techniques, sequence analysis of NGS data, and use of statistical packages
• Monthly Remuneration: ₹20,000 (Consolidated)
• Maximum Age Limit: 28 years
• Primary Duties: Analysis of sequence data and laboratory work

Terms and Conditions for Appointment of JRF

1. Work Location: Wetland Research & Training Center (WRTC), Chandraput (Near Balugaon), Khurda district, under the supervision of Senior Scientist, Chilika Development Authority.
2. Nature of Engagement: Purely temporary, co-terminating with the project duration, availability of funds, or actual work requirement, as deemed appropriate by the Chief Executive, CDA.
3. Provisional Appointment: Subject to verification of original documents at the time of joining, including:
   • Educational qualifications, experience, date of birth, and other credentials.
   • Medical certificate from an Assistant Surgeon or higher-ranked officer confirming physical fitness.
   • Character certificate from two gazetted officers.
   • Relieving order and clearance certificate from the previous employer (if applicable).
4. Work Assignments: JRFs may be assigned duties anywhere within the Chilika Development Authority’s jurisdiction and must participate in field sampling and laboratory work as directed by the Senior Scientist/Scientific Officer.
5. No Right to Permanent Appointment: This temporary engagement does not confer any right to a regular position in any PSU or State Government organization. No legal recourse can be sought now or in the future.
6. Travel Expenses: Reimbursed as per the project’s budget provisions and State Government guidelines.
7. Remuneration & Benefits:
   • Consolidated pay of ₹20,000 per month.
   • No additional allowances, group life insurance, or medical benefits.
8. Performance Monitoring: Monthly work progress reports are required, and remuneration will be released based on the Senior Scientist’s recommendation.
9. Disengagement Clause: Unauthorized absence beyond 3 days or any misconduct (e.g., unprofessional behavior, mismanagement, or misbehavior) may lead to immediate disengagement, as determined by the Chief Executive and an appointed committee.
10. Ownership of Work: All materials, data, and assets generated under this engagement remain the property of the Chilika Development Authority.
11. Leave Policy: JRFs are entitled to 12 casual leave days per year (1 per month), subject to prior written approval from the supervisor.
12. Publication Restrictions: No data or research outcomes may be published or used without prior written permission from the Chief Executive, CDA.
13. No Absorption into CDA: The JRF position does not guarantee future employment within the Chilika Development Authority.
14. Liability for Loss: JRFs will be held personally responsible for any project losses due to negligence or fraud.
15. No Compensation for Injury/Sickness: CDA and the State Government of Odisha are not liable for any compensation in case of illness or injury during the contract period.
16. Handover of Assets: Upon project completion or funding termination, JRFs must return all assets and records to the Chief Executive or an authorized officer.
17. Termination of Engagement: CDA reserves the right to terminate engagement without notice in the following cases:

• Negligence in duty or misconduct.
• Performance falling below expected standards, affecting project progress.
• Any other reason impacting the research project.

18. Resignation: A 30-day advance notice is required. Before leaving, JRFs must submit all project data, assets, reports, and samples to the Senior Scientist.
