Job Title: Scientific Manager
Job Summary:
Excelra is seeking a highly skilled biologist/bioinformatician with expertise in disease biology, especially in rare diseases, oncology, and immuno-oncology. The ideal candidate should have experience in in-silico target assessment, drug repurposing, target-disease interaction, and hypothesis generation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Understand disease pathogenesis and the role of targets in disease pathology.
- Collect and review data from databases, conduct literature mining, and identify associations between targets, drugs, and diseases.
- Analyze the mechanism of action of drugs, build hypotheses, and identify opportunities for indication expansion.
- Create and curate data assets, including ontology tagging and annotation of omics datasets.
- Standardize data formats and implement quality control measures.
- Compile data, prepare presentations, and communicate findings to clients.
- Provide insights aligned with client requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align project goals.
- Contribute to marketing collateral and innovative idea generation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral degree with 3+ years of postdoctoral experience in oncology, immune-oncology, CNS, Cardio Vascular System, fibrosis, rare diseases or related life-science field.
- Post-doctoral experience from a reputed national/international institution would be beneficial.
- Candidates with experience in therapeutic areas such as rare diseases, Oncology/Immuno-oncology demonstrated with research publications will be given preference.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and open-source databases.
- Strong communication and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of drug regulatory authorities, clinical trials, and drug discovery lifecycle.
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and open-source databases.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Proficiency in interpreting large datasets and scientific literature.
- Strong team player, proactive in sharing knowledge.

Optional Qualifications:
- Basic scripting knowledge, familiarity with Linux, BASH, and cloud computing is a plus.
