Job Overview:

This is a full-time, on-site role for a Bioinformatics Scientist located in New Delhi. The Bioinformatics Scientist candidate will play a key role in analyzing genetic data to provide valuable insights into genetic variations, inheritance patterns, and genetic disorders. This role requires strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of genetics, and the ability to work collaboratively in a research or clinical setting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement bioinformatics workflows for analyzing genomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, or metabolomic data.
• Conduct in-depth data analysis on high-throughput sequencing data (e.g., RNA-Seq, WGS, ChIP-Seq, etc.).
• Analyze genetic data from various sources, including DNA sequencing, microarrays, and genotyping, to identify genetic variations.
• Conduct bioinformatic analysis, including alignment, variant calling, and annotation of genomic data.
• Interpret the results of genetic tests and provide accurate reports based on findings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including researchers, clinicians, and laboratory staff, to interpret genetic results and contribute to research or clinical projects.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all genetic data and maintain detailed records of analyses.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in genetic research and technology.
• Participate in the development and validation of new genetic testing protocols and assays.
• Provide technical support and training to junior analysts or lab staff as needed.
• Contribute to scientific papers, presentations, and grants based on genetic findings.

Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Genetics, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
• PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related field will be preferred.
• Proficiency in using bioinformatics tools and software (e.g., GATK, ANNOVAR, VEP, BLAST, Bowtie, GATK, UCSC Genome Browser, ENSEMBL, or similar).
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and parallel processing is a plus.
