Responsibilities for Application Specialist:
- Provide technical support to customers regarding application questions, troubleshooting advice, and product selection via e-mails, phone calls and customer visits.
- Maintain close relationships with cross functional teams to support business targets, identify trends and opportunities, and resolve technical queries that customers are facing using our products.
- Work with life sciences application team to find and close bioprocess, media, and advanced surface sales opportunities by providing solutions that meet/exceed financial targets required for Application Specialist.
- Maintain and improve knowledge databases and other technical resources.
- Participate in product and application trainings, seminars, events to stay updated with new technologies.
- Provide in-depth pre- and post-sales support of key products in the form of technical briefs, on-site product demonstration/trainings.
- Establish and leverage technical credibility to meet customer expectations.
- Contribute to development of applications knowledge, experimental designs, and technical documents.
- Provide market insight and product feedback.
Travel Requirements:
- Up to 30%
Required Education for Application Specialist:
- Bachelor’s with relevant experience or Master’s degree or Ph. D in a sciences discipline (biotechnology, bioengineering, or biological sciences, Biochemistry, etc.)
Required Years and Area of Experience:
- Minimum 7+ years of microbial culture, cell culture/Bioassay/Cancer Biology/3D Cell culture/Bioprocess experience.
- Minimum 2+ years of large-scale production and/or industry experience.
Required Skills for Application Specialist Corning LifeSciences :
- Familiarity with adherent and suspension technology for scale up/scale, Bioreactor experience a plus.
- Proven track record of developing and executing cell culture process development protocols.
- Good understanding of basic cell culture research and technology trends including Cancer Biology, Cell and gene Therapy market and trends preferred for Application Specialist.
- Knowledge of the drug development process from pre-clinical to clinical phases.
- Multi-tasking experience, flexibility, and understanding of the business impact to address immediate priorities and manage deadlines with longer-term projects and strategic initiatives.
- Ability to take day-to-day operational decisions related to service quality, customer support, and balancing short- and long-term commercial impact and customer expectations.
Desired Experience / Qualifications / Skills for Application Specialist Corning LifeSciences :
- MS degree in a technical discipline, preferably in biotechnology/biological sciences.
- 5+ years Bioprocess R&D / production experience.
- Experience with vaccine and/or viral vector (AAV, Adenovirus, and/or Lentivirus) production a plus
- Experience working with CMOs and managing projects.
- Knowledge of downstream processing of Bipharmaceuticals
- Proficient in English.
