Scientist – Bioprocess Development
Umami Bioworks- Umami Bioworks is looking to hire an inquisitive, innovative, and independent Scientist for Bioprocess Development to join our R&D team in India.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize upstream bioprocess conditions for seafood cell culture.
- Planned and executed independent experiments to support bioprocess optimization.n
- Operate and maintain bioreactor systems for suspension culture
- Perform experimental screening of bioprocess approaches
- Utilize modeling techniques to predict and optimize bioprocess performance
- Prepare and maintain cell cultures and media in a sterile environment
- Monitor bioreactor equipment and record data on cell culture processes
Core Competencies & Skills
- Strong background in animal cell culture techniques
- Experience in fish or crustacean cell line development is preferred
- Knowledge of bioreactors, scalable cell culture processes, and serum-free media development
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a research environment
- Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail
Qualifications & Experience
- Master’s degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or related field with 2+ years of relevant industrial experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or related field with 5+ years of relevant industry experience
You will work directly with other members of our team to do cutting-edge science and will have the autonomy to test new ideas and identify better ways to do things.
