Applications are invited from suitable candidates for filling up the purely temporary position of one Student Trainee under the Scientific Social Responsibility (SSR) head of SERB-CRG project entitled “Understanding the molecular secrets of antifungal and antibacterial activity of Burkholderia gladioli strain NGJ1 and utilization thereof for disease control in rice”, under the supervision of Dr. Gopaljee Jha, Scientist, NIPGR.
1. Student Trainee (One Post):
- Consolidated Emoluments: ₹5000/- per month as sanctioned in the project.
- Tenure: The tenure of the position is for two months and is not extendable.
Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates currently pursuing B.Tech/B.Sc./M.Tech/M.Sc. in any discipline of Life Sciences/BS-MS dual degree with biology as a major subject are eligible to apply.
Desirable Criteria:
Basic knowledge of molecular biology tools and techniques and handling plants such as rice and Arabidopsis will be preferred.
The above position is completely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The stipend amount for the above position is as sanctioned in the project and as per norms. The appointment for the post of Student Trainee
will be for two months only, and the tenure of the post can be curtailed based on the assessment of the candidate’s performance and the discretion of the Competent Authority.NIPGR reserves the right to select the candidate against the above post depending on the qualification and experience of the candidate. Reservation of posts shall be as per Govt. of India norms. The appointment may be terminated at any time by giving one-month notice by either side. The applicants will have no claim, implicit or explicit, for consideration against any regular position of NIPGR.

Eligible candidates may appear for walk-in-interview at National Institute of Plant Genome Research (NIPGR), Aruna Asaf Ali Marg, New Delhi-110067 on Monday, March 03, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. along with the duly filled-in application form in the prescribed format.
The duly filled application form along with educational certificates must be submitted at the time of registration at NIPGR from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on March 03, 2025. Any candidate reporting after 11:00 a.m. will not be entertained for the walk-in interview.
The candidate must ascertain their eligibility before applying, as ineligible candidates will not be interviewed. All candidates are requested to appear for the interview with complete bio-data, earlier dissertation thesis, publications (if any), and original degree/experience certificates and transcripts.
Canvassing in any form or bringing influence, political or otherwise, will lead to disqualification of the candidate(s).
Note: Incomplete applications and those in the wrong format will be summarily rejected. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the walk-in interview.
