PROJECT VACANCY – SCIENTIST UNDER PROJECT NO. GP-477
Walk-in-Interview on 27.01.2025 (Monday)

Applications are invited from eligible Indian nationals for one position of Scientist under a project entitled “National Network Project of NIPER, Mohali” sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, GoI, New Delhi [GP-477]. The position is purely on a temporary basis initially for a period of one year (extendable on a yearly basis on the performance of the candidate for a maximum period of three years) and is co-terminus with the duration of the project.
Essential Qualifications:
- Ph.D. (Chemistry/Medicinal Chemistry/Biology/Pharmacoinformatics/Bioinformatics or related area).
- Candidate must have at least one research paper in a science citation indexed (SCI) journal.
- Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D. thesis in the above subjects will also be eligible (along with proof of submission) to apply.
Desired Qualifications: Experience in Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning/Data Analytics/Bioinformatics/Chemoinformatics/Computer-Aided Drug Design (CADD).
Age Limit: Below 40 years as on the date of the Walk-in-Interview.
Fellowship: Rs. 57,600/- per month consolidated (no HRA will be given).
Tenure of the Position: The position is purely temporary initially for a period of one year (extendable
on a yearly basis on the performance of the candidate for a maximum period of three years) and is co-terminus with the duration of the project.Walk-in-Interview Details:
- Date: 27.01.2025 (Monday).
- Time: From 02:00 pm onwards.
- Venue: Room No. 209, Block-B, Department of Medicinal Chemistry, NIPER-SAS Nagar – 160062 (Punjab).
Application Requirements:
- Candidates must bring a duly filled application form in the prescribed proforma with a latest passport-sized photograph pasted on it.
- Attested copies of testimonials/degrees/certificates in support of qualifications, experience, and other details must be submitted.
- Candidates must ensure they fulfill the eligibility criteria before appearing for the Walk-in-Interview.
Eligibility: Only eligible Indian nationals should appear for the Walk-in-Interview.

Application Fee:
- General and OBC category candidates: Rs. 500/- (Demand Draft in favor of ‘Director, NIPER-SAS Nagar’ payable at SAS Nagar (Mohali)/Chandigarh).
- SC/ST/PWD/female candidates: NIL.
- No other form of fee payment will be accepted.
Important Notes:
- Candidates must produce original documents/testimonials at the time of the interview; otherwise, they will not be allowed to participate.
- Incomplete applications or those without relevant enclosures (self-attested copies of degree/certificates/mark sheets/experience certificates/reprints of important publications, photographs, signatures, and prescribed fee) will not be accepted.
- Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates will be as per Government of India rules, subject to valid proof.
- Exceptionally meritorious cases may be considered for relaxation in age, educational qualifications, and experience requirements.
- Selection may include a presentation/interview or any other process as decided by the Competent Authority.
- The Institute reserves the right to withdraw or not fill the post without assigning any reason.
