Applications are invited for appointment under the following project. Appointment shall be on a contractual basis with consolidated pay, renewable yearly or up to the project’s duration, whichever is earlier.

Post(s): Junior Research Fellow (01)

Consolidated Fellowship / Pay-slab: Rs. 37,000/- Plus 27% HRA per month

Qualifications

1. Four years Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s degree (M.Sc. or equivalent) in Life Sciences, Bioinformatics, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Genetics, or related subjects with at least 60% marks or 6.50 CGPA from a recognized university or equivalent.
2. Candidates should have qualified National Eligibility Tests – CSIR-UGC-NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or a selection process through Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions.
3. Experience in basic molecular biology techniques, including PCR, RT-PCR, transformation, cloning, microscopy, and FACS analyses.
4. Experience in microbial culture maintenance, RNA Seq, ChIP Seq experiments, and biochemical assays.
5. Hands-on experience in genomic data analysis and R programming.
6. Ability to maintain accurate lab records and data analyses, with good organizational and prioritization skills, being a team player and having the willingness to learn.

Scope of the Project

• The successful candidate will work on amino acid-dependent regulation of epigenetics and aging in yeast.
• The project involves both wet lab and dry lab work.
• The candidate should be willing to learn genomics and genomic data analysis.
• Suitable candidates will be encouraged to apply for the PhD program.
• The selected candidate will be provided accommodation in the IBAB hostel, based on availability.
