CALL FOR JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW FOR AN ANRF-CRG PROJECT

Applications are invited from suitable candidates for a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) position to work on the following project sponsored by Anusandhan National Research Foundation – Core Research Grant (ANRF-CRG), under the supervision of Prof. Amartya Sanyal, Department of Biological Sciences, BITS-Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, India.
Title of the project: Deciphering the epigenetic determinants of acquired cancer drug resistance
Duration of the project: 36 months
Project position and number: Junior Research Fellow (1)
Fellowship Amount: Rs.37000 + HRA and after completion of two years Rs.42000 + HRA as per norms
Eligibility requirements:
- M.S./M.Sc./MTech. or equivalent degrees in Life sciences/ Biotechnology/ Biochemistry/ Molecular Biology/ Microbiology/ Bioinformatics or a related discipline with at least 60% marks.
- The project will involve experimental work along with bioinformatics work. The experimental work includes basic molecular biology techniques, real-time PCR, recombinant DNA technology, animal cell culture, microscopic imaging, etc.
- The bioinformatics work involves next-generation sequencing (NGS) experiments and data analysis, statistical analysis, etc. Someone with an inclination for computational work and knowledge of Python, R, etc., would be preferred.
- The candidate is also expected to do other lab management-related work as and when required and assist in teaching activities.
- Candidates with their own fellowships such as DST-INSPIRE, NET-JRF, DBT-JRF, or equivalent would be preferred, but not mandatory.

The selected candidate may be permitted to register for the Ph.D. programme at the BITS, Pilani, Hyderabad Campus, subject to fulfilling the institutional eligibility criteria and requirements.
