Call for Proposals to establish Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) in Karnataka excluding Bengaluru Urban District
Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS) under the Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Science & Technology, Government of Karnataka (GoK), has been instrumental in promoting Electronics, IT, and Biotech sectors in Karnataka.
- It promotes innovation and entrepreneurship, supports the growth of innovation ecosystems, implements and strengthens policies to foster innovation across sectors, and cultivates an environment conducive to advancing disruptive technologies.
- It functions as the nodal agency for implementing the proposed Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) scheme in Karnataka, excluding Bengaluru Urban District.
Purpose of TBIs:
- TBIs will forge a strong link between R&D and commercialization of technologies in Academic/Technical/R&D Institutions.
- TBIs in institutions with strong R&D focus will be supported to tap innovations and technologies for venture creation by utilizing expertise and infrastructure already available with the host institution.
Objectives:
- Achieve the speedy commercialization of technologies developed by the host institutions.
- Promote and nurture novel technology/innovation-based startups.
- Build a vibrant startup ecosystem by establishing a network between academia, financial institutions, industries, and other institutions.
- Provide services to startups, including: Infrastructure, Equipment, Mentoring, Branding, Networking, Legal, financial, technical, and intellectual property-related services

TBIs in emerging areas like Additive Manufacturing, AI/ML, Digital Twin Technology, Language Technologies, Computer Vision, AR/VR, Blockchain, Quantum Technologies, Web 3.0, Clean Energy Solutions, Agriculture and allied fields, Education, etc., would be promoted.

- Interested Institutions/Organizations are requested to submit their proposal in a signed PDF format to the email address: [email protected]
- Additionally, two hard copies must be sent to the following address ensuring they reach within 31st December 2024, superscribing the cover with “Proposal Submission – TBI”:
