Job Profile/ Description: Applications are invited for the position of Project Associate-II for a time-bound Shell-funded project – Tuning information from genomics analysis of tripartite mycorrhiza associations for improving soil health with respect to increasing soil organic carbon (SOC) storage and reducing GHG emissions.
Job Profile:
- Plan activities of the project and monitor progress against the approved work plan.
- Work with the team to ensure the project is on track.
- Carry out molecular biology-related experiments including PCR, qRT-PCR, biochemical and microbiological assays as required.
- Collect and analyze qualitative and quantitative data (both primary and secondary).
- Write and prepare project reports, conduct literature reviews, and manage other deliverables as per the project’s timelines.
- Participate in internal and external meetings, workshops, conferences, and other dissemination activities.
- Write and contribute to publications (scientific papers, policy briefs, opinion pieces, etc.).
Experience: 2 – 3 Years
Qualification:
- Master’s degree in any area of Life Sciences/Genetics/Microbiology/Agricultural Sciences OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent, with a good academic record.
- Two years’ experience in Research and Development in Industrial and Academic Institutions or Science and Technology Organizations and Scientific activities and services.
- Candidates who are selected through (a) National Eligibility Tests – CSIR UGC NET including Lectureship (Assistant Professorship) or GATE or (b) A selection process through National-level examinations conducted by Central Government Departments and their Agencies and Institutions will be preferred.
Skills:
- Hands-on experience in Molecular biology (particularly RNA isolation, cloning, quantitative real-time PCR, Northern and Western blotting), Microbiology, and Computational studies (OMICS) is required.
- Basic understanding of agricultural science and fieldwork is desirable.
Location: TERI-Gram
Salary: As per DST Norms – ₹35,000 pm + 27% HRA
