National Centre for Biological Sciences (NCBS) – Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), is a premier research institute engaged in research in life sciences across scale. Several research facilities and associated infrastructure help in providing cutting-edge technology and support research. Several of these facilities not only provide support to the researchers within the institute but also academia and industry nationally and internationally.

NCBS is proud to launch a Science Education Initiative to supplement biology teaching at the high school and undergraduate levels, nurturing future talent in the biological sciences.

NCBS invites applications from suitable individuals for the position of Teacher Training Coordinator on a fixed-term basis.

• Position: Teacher Training Coordinator
• Number of vacancies: 1 position
• Age limit: 55 years as on 01.07.2024
• Consolidated Salary: Salary will commensurate with experience and qualification.

Essential Qualification & Experience:

• PhD in Biology.
• At least 5 years of experience in teaching science.
• Expertise in science education as well as teacher education.

This position aims to provide customized training and

workshops for teachers and educators to use in their classrooms.

Responsibilities will be:

• Design and conduct professional development programmes and hands-on workshops for science teachers in schools and colleges, incorporating global best practices in science teaching.
• Organise capacity-building workshops for science teachers and teacher educators to become resource persons who can provide professional development guidance to educators.
• Guide mentorship training of research scholars by facilitating training sessions in scientific methodology and small research projects for high school and college students.
• Adapt to the evolving needs of educational outreach activities at the institute.
