The Application Support Scientist is responsible for the following:
- Strategically planning and executing sample analysis using Sciex Separations equipment.
- Planning and delivering training courses, providing phone, web, and in-lab technical support to researchers in Biopharma and biologics, alongside monitoring customer satisfaction through regular contact with key accounts.
- Conducting pre-sales demonstrations of Sciex Separations instruments and related workflows.
- Preparing and/or delivering technical presentations and product demonstrations at scientific conferences.
- Conducting and delivering regular training/refreshers for sales and service teams, and coaching junior team members.
This position is field-based, part of the Sciex Application team, and located in Bangalore
, India, responsible for supporting the Biopharma growth of the Sciex Separations business in the region.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
- Generate technical content on Therapeutic Peptide, Protein Chemistry, Therapeutic Oligonucleotides, mAb Characterisations, etc., using the Sciex LC-MS platform.
- Conduct pre-sales demonstrations of Sciex Separations instruments and workflows, including working with sales teams on customer qualification, sales strategy, the development of LC-MS based analytical methods, and generation of demonstration reports.
- Deliver high-quality support to users to drive customer satisfaction, leading to the development, nurturing, and retention of a key customer base.
- Conduct and deliver training courses/refreshers learning sessions to customers.
- Prepare and/or deliver technical presentations and product demonstrations at scientific conferences.
The essential requirements of the job include:
- M.Sc. in Biotechnology/Biochemistry (>8 years of industry experience) or Ph.D. in Biotechnology/Biochemistry (0-4 years of experience).
- 0-4 years of relevant experience in BioPharma specialization. Preference for experience in Therapeutic Peptide, Protein Chemistry, Therapeutic Oligonucleotides, and mAb Characterisations using LC-MS platform research.
- In-depth understanding of analytical techniques in research specific to Liquid Chromatography tandem mass spectrometry; hands-on experience related to other instrumentation and techniques in LC-MS workflows is preferred.
- Highest levels of personal and professional integrity and ethics, with good verbal and written English language communication skills.
- Proven experience in teaching or training in the use of separations sciences equipment.
Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:
- This is a field-based role based out of Bangalore, India, with support extended primarily to BioPharma customers across India. The role demands about 50% travel within India.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
- Proven experience in teaching or training in the use of separations sciences equipment.
- Exposure to SCIEX technologies and software.
