Bose Institute, Kolkata, invites applications from Indian Citizens for one temporary position of Project Scientist in the DBT-sponsored project entitled “National Network Project of Bose Institute with Indian Statistical Institute and Vidyasagar University.” The objectives of the project are in the domain of Bioinformatics.

The position is purely temporary on a contractual basis. Initially, the engagement will be for one year, extendable based on a review of performance every year and availability of funding in the project. The project is tenable up to 24.01.2029, and the position, if renewed, is co-terminus with the project.

Details of qualification, monthly emoluments, age, etc. are as follows:

Essential Qualification: Doctoral Degree in Science or Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University or equivalent.

Desirable Qualification: Experience of any or more of the following:

• Experience in Bioinformatics research
• Programming with R/Python
• Machine learning
• Designing/maintaining databases
• Computer systems management and networks

Emoluments: Rs. 56,000/- p.m., plus 24% HRA.

Upper Age Limit: 35 Years*
*Relaxation of age in case of SC/ST/OBC/Physically Challenged candidates will be as per Govt. Rules.

2. If a candidate is not found eligible, his/her candidature will be canceled at any stage. It may also be noted that even if a candidate qualifies and subsequently it is found that he/she does not fulfill the eligibility criteria, his/her candidature will be canceled.
3. The prescribed essential qualifications are the minimum, and mere possession of the same does not entitle a candidate to be called for an interview. In the event of the number of applications being large, the Institute will resort to shortlisting criteria to restrict the number of candidates to be called for an interview.

5. All short-listed candidates will be intimated of the date of the interview on the website of the Institute, and they are advised to follow the website regularly. No individual letter to the candidates will be sent.
