PGIMER Microbiology Project Associate Recruitment – Applications Invited
DEPARTMENT OF PULMONARY MEDICINE
POSTGRADUATE INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL EDUCATION AND RESEARCH, CHANDIGARH
Applications are invited for (a) one post of Senior Project Associate, and (b) one post of Laboratory Technician in Department of Biotechnology (DBT) funded project entitled “The Regional Prospective Observational Research for Tuberculosis (RePORT) India Phase II”. Both posts are purely on a contract basis initially for up to six months, and may be further extended till project completion. Those selected will have no claim to regular appointment either at PGIMER, or under any other research activity.
Senior Project Associate (one post)
Eligibility:
- PhD in any microbiological discipline; or
- MD in Microbiology, Medicine, Pulmonary Medicine, or equivalent.
Desirable: Experience of handling research projects in a supervisory role, and/or proficiency in various advanced laboratory techniques in mycobacteriology (including processing and storage of clinical specimens, culture, molecular diagnostics, etc.).
Age limit: Below 40 years.
Emoluments: As per project guidelines (currently Rs. 42,000 + 16% HRA per month).
Nature of duty: Overall scheduling and management of study-defined activities as per the research protocol; coordinating and implementing all laboratory activities; coordinating and monitoring patient recruitment, patient consent, and collection/transport/storage of clinical samples; completing case
record forms as per project SOPs; coordinating project biobank activities; quality assurance; maintaining inventory of equipment and consumables; training and supervision of other project staff; periodic appraisal and analysis of project data; writing of scientific reports and research papers; and liaison with various central data management and site coordination committees.How to Apply:

This bio-data should highlight complete information on the applicant’s eligibility and relevant experience for the post applied for, and include his/her e-mail address and mobile number. After scrutiny of applications, only the shortlisted candidates will be personally interviewed. Age relaxation will be given to SC, ST, and OBC applicants as per government norms.
The interview will be held at 3:00 PM on September 11, 2024 at the office of the undersigned at Nehru Hospital (Level 4, F Block), PGIMER, Chandigarh. In case the number of shortlisted applicants is large, only those having any desirable qualification will be called for interview. The interview is on-site only, and applicants reporting late will not be assessed. No TA/DA will be admissible for attending this interview.
