Advertisement for the Post of Junior Research Assistant (On Contract)

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for the post of Junior Research Assistant (on contract) in a research project entitled “Integrated machine learning and genomics-based approach to develop novel diagnostic markers for colorectal cancer,” sanctioned vide letter no. CST/D-911 dated 14/08/2024 and sponsored by CSTUP.

Description and Objectives of the Project: We aim to analyze colorectal cancer NGS data for the identification of CRC biomarkers with the help of machine learning methods. The candidates having experience in the area of NGS data analysis, machine learning, and cancer bioinformatics will be preferred.

The position is purely temporary. It will be governed by the funding agency rules & service conditions of the Office of the Dean (Research & Consultancy), MNNIT Allahabad.

Number of Position: 1 (One)

Essential Qualifications: M.Sc., M.Sc. (Ag), M.Pharm., M.VSc, B.Tech/B.E. or equivalent degree (in Bioinformatics, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular Human Genetics, Molecular Biology including any relevant discipline suitable

to the work proposed in the project) with high academic attainment, with first class in UG and PG examination.

Desirable Experience and Qualification:
Experience in the field of cancer genomics and machine learning. 75% marks or equivalent CGPA in M.Sc./65% marks or equivalent CGPA in M.Tech.

Fellowship: Rs. 25,000.00 per month (or as per funding agency guidelines)

Age Limit: The upper age limit for Junior Research Assistant shall be 28 years as on 1st April of the year in which the application is made.

Tenure of Appointment: Appointment will be made on a contract basis for a period of one year initially (Date of joining and tenure will depend on the availability of the grant), which may be extended depending on the performance evaluation on a yearly basis till the end of the project (September 2027).

2. The Institute reserves the right to accept the application at any time, and consider candidates of exceptional credentials without applications.
3. Qualification and experience may be relaxed by the Institute at any point of time for otherwise exceptional candidates. Mere possession of the prescribed qualification does not ensure that the candidate would be called for an interview. The candidates will be shortlisted on the basis of merit and the requirement of the project.
4. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by e-mail about the interview date. So, the candidate must provide valid Email IDs in their applications.
5. Shortlisted candidates have to present themselves for the interview on the interview date with an updated CV, publications if any, and original and attested photocopies of mark sheets/certificates in support of their academic qualifications. The mode of interview (Offline/Online) will be informed to the shortlisted candidates via the email ID provided in the application form.
6. Applicants in employment (private, government, or any other organization) are required to submit a “No Objection Certificate” from the employer at the time of the interview.
7. No TA/DA will be paid for appearing in the interview.
