The Institute for Stem Cell Science & Regenerative Medicine (www.instem.res.in), Bangalore, is an autonomous institute under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. DBT inStem’s mandate is to establish collaborative research programs in the field of stem cell biology, regeneration, and repair in development and disease, with an emphasis on translation. To develop strengths in focused areas, research at DBT-inStem is driven through collaborative interdisciplinary teams, addressing questions that are beyond the scope of a single laboratory. DBT-inStem shares a campus and research facilities with the Bangalore Life Sciences Cluster (BLiSC).

DBT-inStem invites applications (in online mode) from eligible candidates for various contractual positions under various projects funded by the ICMR, CEFIPRA, and DBT. We are looking for dedicated professionals who are result-oriented, can assimilate, analyze, and communicate data effectively, and are excellent team players capable of working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.

Responsible for generating and characterizing patient-derived stem cell lines. CRISPR-edited stem cell line generation. Excellent team player to work in a multi-disciplinary environment including clinicians and scientists.

Prior experience in stem cell-based research, excellent written and verbal communication required with exceptional organizational skills.

DBT/PAII/Dhan Lab Project Associate – II

₹35,000/m + 27% HRA (Net Qualified), ₹28,000/m + HRA (Non-Net Qualified)

Masters in Science or Bachelor’s in Technology & 2 years of experience in research and development in academic institutions or Science and Technology organizations.

Desirable Qualifications: 

National level exams qualified with experience in cell biology techniques including cell culture, transfection, microscopy, and cell-based assays. Excellent written and verbal communication.

Perform research requiring cell biology techniques including cell culture, transfection, microscopy, and cell-based assays. Generate and characterize patient-derived stem cell lines. Regular data analyses, project updates, literature surveys, and presentations on the target.
CEFIPRA/JRF/Dhan Lab Junior Research Fellow

01 (one)

₹37,000/m + HRA (Net Qualified), ₹25,000/m + HRA (Non-Net Qualified)

35 years

Master’s Degree in Life Sciences/ MVSC or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology or Medicine from a recognized university or equivalent, with at least 1 year of R&D experience in an academic institution or relevant industry.

Desirable Qualifications: 

National exams qualified. Experience in cell culture. Possibility for Ph.D. registration through appropriate channels.

Research requiring cell biology techniques including culturing routine cell lines, maintenance of stocks, and transfection. Plan experiments, order reagents, and adhere to protocols. Routine molecular biology work such as cloning, nucleic acid isolation, and Sanger sequencing. Cloning, recombinant protein expression, and purification. Regular data analyses, project updates, literature surveys, and presentations on the target. Participate in project team meetings and contribute to the projects intellectually.

 

Tenure: Contractual appointment for one year, renewable based on requirement and review of progress and requirement of the Grant.

  9. The incumbent will be required to conform to the rules and regulations of DBT-inStem in force from time to time and follow the discipline rules of the institute, failing which the contract may be withdrawn at any point in time.
