We are seeking passionate researchers to join an exciting project focusing on biohydrogen production from organic waste across diverse environmental conditions. Project Title:
A Comprehensive Feasibility Study on Biohydrogen Production from Organic Waste at Psychrophilic, Mesophilic, and Thermophilic Temperatures
Sponsored by:

Key Responsibilities:
- Isolation, cultivation, and characterization of aerobic and anaerobic bacterial cultures
- Development of microbial processes for biohydrogen production
- Experimental design using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) or Taguchi methods
- Analysis of microbial metabolites through advanced techniques such as GC/HPLC
- Process optimization and scale-up of microbial processes
Desired Skills:
- Expertise in aseptic handling of aerobic and anaerobic bacteria
- Hands-on experience with anaerobic microbial fermentation
- Proficiency in using equipment like GC, HPLC, sequence analysis tools, and fermenters
Open Positions:
- Senior Project Associate (1 position)
Essential Qualification:
Doctoral degree in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or any related life sciences discipline
Desirable:
- Doctoral degree with First Class in M.Sc./M.Tech
- Experience in process optimization for biohydrogen, biomethane, or bioethanol production
- Knowledge in pretreatment, saccharification, and fermentation of biomass
- Expertise in experimental design (RSM, Taguchi method) and biostatistics
- Proven experience with anaerobic bacterial handling
- Publications in Science Citation Indexed (SCI) journals
2. Project Assistant (3 positions)
Essential Qualification:
- First Class in M.Sc./M.Tech in Microbiology, Biotechnology, or related fields
Desirable:
- Experience in anaerobic microbiology and fermentation
- Hands-on experience with biohydrogen, biomethane, or bioethanol production
- Proficiency with tools like GC, HPLC, and fermenters
Project Duration: 2 Years
Monthly Emoluments:
- Senior Project Associate: ₹42,000 + HRA (~₹53,340 per month)
- Project Assistant: ₹20,000 + HRA (~₹25,500 per month)

Our research group at ARI has been involved in developing microbial-driven processes for energy extraction and conducting research in microbial electrosynthesis of value-added products, microbial genomics, and electrochemistry using a combination of experimental and in silico approaches. The role will involve performing microbiology and biochemical experiments. The research is focused on developing technology in the field of bioenergy.
