Job Summary:

UPL is looking for a Field Station Assistant to execute research activities at the Pune Station as directed by the Research Agronomist.

Job Responsibilities:

• Promote the Station as a Center of Excellence within UPL, maintaining good communication with global and regional project leaders.
• Ensure that all activities at the site are compliant with corporate rules and that a safe working environment is maintained.
• Support the Research Agronomist with the effective execution and coordination of all research activities in your area of operations. Ensuring that high-quality trials are implemented, maintained, assessed, and the resulting data reported to stakeholders in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure safe and compliant use and storage of all chemical products by maintaining a zero tolerance for any contaminations at and around the site.
• Stay up-to-date with and work within relevant field methodologies, including where appropriate EPPO and country testing guidelines.
• Within your area of operations, stay up-to-date with developments in agricultural best practices and act as a point of contact for any technical queries.
• Actively participate and contribute to the growth of UPL’s Intellectual Property (IP) / patent portfolio.
• Use and application of ARM software packages, including at least ARM.

Required Education and Experience:

• Minimum 3-5 years of similar experience
• Agronomist or similar (BSc, equivalent or higher)
• English (CEFR B2, equivalent or higher)
• BASIS Certificate in Crop Protection IPM (Agriculture), or equivalent
• BASIS Certificate in Plant Protection, or equivalent
• NPTC Certificate in Principles of Safe Handling and Application of Pesticides (City & Guilds, 021649), or equivalent
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think logically and systematically
• Self-starter. Must possess initiative and motivation to work with a minimum of guidance
