Applications are invited for the position of Project Research Scientist-1 in an ICMR-funded project titled “Comparison of Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, and Dopamine in the Treatment of Neonatal Septic Shock: A Randomized Controlled Trial,” under Dr. Shiv Sajan Saini in the Newborn Unit, Department of Pediatrics, PGIMER, Chandigarh. The details are as follows:
Position: Project Research Scientist (Non-Medical) 1 No.
Essential Qualification:
- First class Master’s Degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or Bioinformatics with Computational Biology as one of the subjects.
OR - Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or Bioinformatics with Computational Biology as one of the subjects, and at least a Second class Master’s Degree in the above-mentioned streams.
Desirable Qualification:
Preference will be given to candidates who have:
- Qualified National Research Fellowship examinations (such as CSIR-UGC NET, ICMR-JRF, DBT-INSPIRE)
- Proficiency in R/Python/SPSS
- Experience in Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence/Deep Learning
- Experience of research in Medical Sciences
Age Criteria: 35 Years (Relaxable in the case of SC/ST/OBC/PH/women candidates as per rules)
Emoluments: As per ICMR guidelines INR 66,080 (56,000 + 18% HRA) (No other allowances will be paid

- Application must be accompanied by attachment(s) containing your brief CV (with email id and mobile number clearly mentioned), age-proof, a recent passport size photograph, qualification certificate(s), experience certificate(s), category certificate, and No-objection certificate from the current employer as a single PDF file. Please upload this file on the Google sheet at the relevant place.
- The soft copy of the application along with self-attested photocopies of certificates must be uploaded on or before 17th September 2024, up to 5 PM. Applications reaching after the due date & time will not be considered.
- Incomplete applications or applications not accompanied by relevant documents will be summarily rejected.
- The candidates will be shortlisted based on the qualification(s) and their work experience. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. Shortlisted candidates for the interview will be informed through email by 20th September 2024.
- If the number of candidates is more, a written test will be taken on 24th September at 9:30 AM in APC auditorium complex, PGIMER. The details of the test will be communicated through email on 20th September 2024.
- The tentative date and time of the interview are 24th September 2024 at 2:00 PM. The final schedule and venue will be sent to the email of shortlisted candidates.
- No TA/DA will be paid to attend the interview.
- The competent authority reserves the right of any amendment, cancellation, and changes to this advertisement as a whole or in part without assigning any reason or giving any notice.
- The decision of the competent authority regarding the selection of the candidate will be final and no representation will be entertained in this regard.
- The appointment will be initially offered till the duration of the project completing its first year and will be extended depending upon satisfactory performance of the candidate and extension by the funding agency given yearly (likely duration of the project is 4 years).
- These appointments will be made for the projects sanctioned to the P.I. by the ICMR, New Delhi. The appointments will not vest any right to claim by the candidate for regular appointment or permanent absorption in PGIMER, Chandigarh/ICMR, New Delhi, or continued for other Projects.
- Expiry of Contract: The contract will automatically expire on completion of the project or earlier in case of withdrawal of support by the funding agency. The engagement in the project is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. The contractual appointment can be terminated at any time by either side by giving 30 days’ notice or salary in lieu thereof.
- All disputes will be subjected to the jurisdiction of the Court of Law at UT, Chandigarh.
