The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is a premier institute dedicated to research and teaching in the basic sciences. It was established in 2006 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (renamed Ministry of Education in August 2020). In 2012, IISER Pune was declared as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament.

Applicants fulfilling the following advertised criteria may attend Walk-in Interviews.

Name of the Post: Junior Research Fellow

Title of the Project: “Cytoskeletal and membrane adaptations of stretched neurons from tension-induced growth to traumatic brain injury”

Project Code: 30123701

Funding Agency: Department of Science and Technology (DST)

Minimum educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Biology with first class or equivalent along with first class in bachelor’s with a valid scorecard or equivalent scorecard of CSIR-NET / GATE / DBT – JRF / any other National Level Test conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies and Institutions.

Desirable: Experience of working with primary neuronal cultures.

Preference: Candidates having demonstrated experience of time-lapse microscopy of dynamic cellular processes

Tenure of the appointment: Initially for a period of six months extendable for a further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.

Consolidated emoluments per month: Rs.31,000/- + 16% House Rent Allowance

Upper age limit as on last date of application: Not more than 28 years. Age relaxation commensurate with educational qualification/s and/or experience/s of the applicant may be considered for candidates having qualification and experience higher than the advertised with the prior approval of the competent authority.

Reporting Time: 02.30 PM

Candidate reporting after 02.30 PM will not be considered for the selection process.

2. All the originals and one set of self-attested photocopies of:
   i. Certificate regarding date of birth
   ii. Mark sheets and certificates (starting from 10th onward) regarding educational qualification
   iii. Certificate/s regarding experience/s as mentioned in the application form iv. One Photo Identity proof (Government issued)
3. One recent passport-size color photograph.
