Recruitment of Junior Research Fellow
Applications are invited for one position of Junior Research Fellow purely on a contractual basis, time-bound, and of a non-regular nature under the CSIR – ASPIRE project on “Developing peptide barcodes of PUSA Basmati varieties and Hybrids for authentication and traceability”. The application deadline is 16th September 2024, and the shortlisted candidates will be informed about the details of the online interview (Date and Time) by email. The interview will be held at IARI – Rice Breeding & Genetics Research Centre, Aduthurai, Tamil Nadu. The eligible candidates are requested to send their application in the enclosed proforma (Annexure-I) and declaration form (Annexure-II) along with the scanned copies of the original documents in a single PDF file to the email address [email protected] with a copy to [email protected] on or before 16.09.2024, 05.30 PM.
After screening the applications, the eligible candidates will be informed about the details of the online interview (Date and Time) by email. Original documents will be verified at the time of the interview. Therefore, shortlisted candidates will be required
to carry their recent bio-data in the enclosed formats along with original copies of the relevant documents besides the copy of the thesis. If any candidate is found to have submitted false claims during screening or at a later stage, their candidature will be summarily rejected.The details of the posts are as follows:

Essential Qualification: MSc Biotechnology/ Agricultural Biotechnology/Bioinformatics/Life Sciences / B.Tech Biotechnology or equivalent degree, with 55% marks and passing of NET/GATE test.
Desirable Qualification: Experience in plant proteins, genomic and proteomic data analysis with machine learning would be desired. Job Description – Carry out research work of the project |
Terms and conditions:
- Age limit: Maximum age is 28 years for Junior Research Fellow (age relaxation of five years for SC/ST, women, OBC, and physically handicapped candidates). The minimum age should be 18 years as on the date of the interview. A small relaxation in age limit may be considered, in case of applicants who are suitably qualified and experienced, on the recommendations of the selection committee.
- The post is purely temporary and will be filled on a contractual basis for one year or till the termination of the project, whichever is earlier. The selected candidate shall not claim a regular appointment at this Institute, as the post is co-terminus with the project.
- The interview for eligible candidates will be held online, the details of which will be communicated to eligible candidates by email.
- Reporting time for the online interview will be communicated, and all the candidates shall adhere to the instructions.
- The candidates will have to compulsorily fill in the application form (as per the format annexed), all the scanned certificates from matriculation onwards, date of birth certificate, NET/equivalent certificate, degree certificate either original or provisional, and a recent photograph enclosed onto the scanned application form. Proof of experience and publications also need to be sent by email. The selected candidate will be required to produce all the original documents and a medical certificate at the time of joining. - No TA/DA/ any other expenses will be paid for attending the interview.
- Only the candidates meeting essential qualifications will be interviewed.
- Concealing of facts or canvassing in any form shall lead to disqualification or termination of such candidates.
- The candidate intending to attend the online interview, if any of his/her near or distant relative is an employee of the ICAR/IARI, has to declare his/her name, designation, nature of duties, and relationship in writing. If on the date of the online interview such a declaration is furnished and found that his/her relative is an employee of ICAR/IARI, such candidate will not be allowed to appear in the interview.
- All the other candidates are also required to compulsorily submit the scanned declaration duly signed in the format annexed along with other documents in the e-mail. The candidates will have to submit applications and documents in a single PDF file. Applications not submitted in a single file will be rejected.
- In case of any disputes, it will be resolved in the jurisdiction of the New Delhi court only.
