Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) is a not-for-profit Section 8, Schedule B, Public Sector Enterprise, under Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Government of India as an Interface Agency to strengthen and empower the emerging Biotech enterprise to undertake strategic research and innovation, addressing nationally relevant product development needs.

Position: Regulatory/Policy Interns under Regulatory Affairs & Policy Advocacy (RAPA)

Position Code: MT-05

Number of Positions: (02) Two

Consolidated Emoluments: Between Rs.30,000/- to Rs.50,000/- depending upon qualifications & experience and shall be governed by the policy of Young Professional in BIRAC.

Job Tenure: Initial appointment will be for a period

of Six months which may be extended subject to satisfactory performance.

Job Description: The Regulatory Affairs & Policy Advocacy (RAPA) division within the Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) facilitates innovators in navigating regulatory approval pathways and advocates for policies impacting startups, SMEs, and young entrepreneurs. Regulatory Interns under RAPA will be responsible for executing the activities detailed below.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordination and support for regulatory workshops and regulatory centers.
• Support in organization of strategy meetings and stakeholders’ interactions.
• Facilitate the organization of FIRST HUB – “Ask Me Anything” platform.
• Assist in identifying regulatory requirements for BIRAC supported proposals.
• Create and maintain databases, perform market research and prepare white papers.
• Contribute in landscaping of existing regulations and policies in the area of BioPharma, Pharma, Agritech, Medtech, Food and Nutrition, Energy, etc.
• Monitor real-time regulatory updates, collaborating with external stakeholders to identify potential opportunities and regulatory challenges.
• Any other activity of RAPA and work with the team for timely delivery of assigned tasks.

Essential Qualification:

Masters in any area of Life Sciences/ Biotechnology/ Medical Research/ Regulatory Sciences/Management/ Market Research/ Research Analysis/ Public policy or any other related area.

Desirable:

• Post Qualification One-year work experience with national and international regulatory bodies or relevant industry.
• Experience in research paper/concept note preparation, data analysis using statistical tools.
• Excellent writing & oral communication skills.

Age Limit: 30 years as on closing date of application.
