RECRUITMENT FOR THE POST OF SENIOR PROJECT ASSOCIATE ON AN EXTERNALLY FUNDED PROJECT
The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Thiruvananthapuram is one of the premier science education and research institutes established by the Government of India in 2008 to impart high-quality education integrated with outstanding research in modern science. The Institute invites applications for the following positions on contract basis:
Name of Post: Project associate I
Title of the project: Understanding the effect of stabilizing selection for the timing of adult emergence on circadian clock of Drosophila melanogaster
Funding agency: Department of Science and Technology, Science and Engineering Research Board (DST-SERB), New Delhi, India.
Minimum Educational qualification (as prescribed by the funding agency): Master’s degree in biological sciences from a recognised university with 60% marks. Candidates who have qualified National Eligibility tests-CSIR-UGC-NET including lectureship or GATE will be preferred. Candidates without National Eligibility Test qualification may be appointed as Project Associate I if found suitable.
Desirable qualifications: Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Drosophila research, Publications in reputed journals. Candidates who have a PhD degree awarded or thesis defended can also apply.

Fellowship amount:
Rs 31,000/- +HRA to scholars who are selected in a national eligibility test (CSIR/UGC) or national level exam conducted by agencies/institutes Rs 25,000/- +HRA to those who do not fall under the above category.Tenure of the post: Initial contract is for 1 year and is extendable based on the performance of the candidate till the termination of the project ie. maximum up to 2 years.
Age: Upper limit of 28 years with Govt. of India norms of relaxation, as applicable.
Age Relaxation: Preferably below 45 years (Age may be relaxed for women candidates who had a career break and have the relevant research experience).
