Bioinformatician job description- At QTLomics Technologies (P) Ltd:
Education: MSc (with 2 to 3 years of experience) or PhD in Bioinformatics (with 1 to 2 years) or Computer Science degree with a specialization in bioinformatics, Genomics, Data Science with a biology focus, or a related scientific field (1 to 2 years experience).
Professional Experience and Technical Proficiency:
- Significant experience in developing and applying computational tools and algorithms to analyze, manage, and interpret large biological datasets. Use expertise to develop and maintain databases, design experiments, and collaborate with experimental biologists to help answer biological questions.
- Mastery of multiple programming languages including Python and Java.
- Proficiency and extensive knowledge of graph and relational databases.
- Involve in the process of sequencing and analyzing genomes of different species to understand their genetic makeup and how they have evolved over time. Use computational tools and algorithms to annotate the genomic data, identifying genes and their functions.
- Use tools to identify genes, regulatory regions, and functional elements in genomes. Analysis of genetic variation and the identification of mutations
- Write reports and publications that summarize their findings and present them to the scientific community. They must have excellent writing skills and be able to communicate their findings clearly and concisely.
- Stay up to date with new developments and technologies, attend conferences or read scientific journals to stay current with the latest research.

- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to transform complex biological data into insightful, actionable information.
- Innovative problem-solving abilities, with a focus on creating solutions that address complex research challenges.

- Excellent communication capabilities, adept at simplifying and articulating complex bioinformatics and IT topics to various audiences.
