The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune is a premier institute dedicated to research and teaching in the basic sciences. It was established in 2006 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (renamed Ministry of Education in August 2020). In 2012, IISER Pune was declared as an Institute of National Importance by an Act of Parliament.
Institute invites applications from Indian nationals for the following post purely on temporary and contractual basis under funded project:

Title of the Project: “Transcription-translation uncoupling in bacteria: Dissecting the fundamental principles of a phenomenon unknown in bacteria”

Minimum educational qualification
- M.Sc. / M.S. / M. Tech. in Life Sciences / Biotechnology / Bioinformatics with minimum 70% marks / equivalent grade.
- If needed, additional percentage cut-off will be applied during the screening process.
Preference
Candidates having the following will be preferred:
- Experience in bioinformatic analyses, large data analyses, genome sequence data analyses for differential abundance of transcripts and polymorphism.
- Experience during the M.Sc. / M. Tech project work will also be considered.
Desirable
- Basic molecular biology experimental skills, protein purification, and quantification skills are desirable.
Tenure of the appointment
Initially for a period of one year extendable for a further period subject to satisfactory performance of the incumbent and continuation of the project.
Consolidated emoluments per month
- Rs. 25,000/- + 24% (House Rent Allowance)
- Rs. 31,000 + 24% (House Rent Allowance)
- With valid CSIR-NET / GATE / DBT – JRF / any other National Level Test conducted by Central Government Departments and their agencies OR equivalent scorecard.
Upper age limit as on last date of application
- Project Associate-I – Not more than 35 years.
- Junior Research Fellow – Not more than 28 years.
