Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences (ILBS) is an autonomous super-specialty institute of excellence under Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. The vision of ILBS is to be a global leader by becoming a beacon of patient care, teaching, and research in the field of Liver and Biliary diseases and allied disciplines. The Deemed-to-be-University status was conferred to ILBS by the University Grants Commission (UGC) under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956.
The institute is inviting applications for the entrance examination for PhD courses for the academic session 1st July 2024, as per the details given below:

Eligibility:
1) NET qualified candidates
Applicants who have cleared a national level examination like CSIR/UGC-NET JRF, DBT-JRF, and ICMR-JRF need to appear for a direct interview.
(2) Non-NET candidates– written test followed by interview/Departmental Assessment.
(Master’s Degree in Biological Sciences (Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, Zoology, Microbiology) or a Professional degree (MBBS, Master Degree in Medical or Dental Sciences, M.Tech., M.Pharma Nursing, M.Phil Nursing or other degrees equivalent to Master’s degree by the corresponding statutory body. Candidates should have secured a minimum of 60% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade as per UGC rules.

The NET-qualified candidates are exempted from written examination and directly eligible to appear in the Departmental Assessment Exam/Interview.
Duration of the Courses: PhD – 3-5 years duration

Application deadline: The last date to apply for online application is 12.05.2024 (5:00 PM).
Procedure for Admission:
- Selection of candidates will be made on the basis of an all India entrance test.
- The Entrance Examination will be conducted in two shifts as detailed below.
- The general instructions for completing online forms, paying the application fee, and being admitted to the courses are detailed on the website (http://www.ilbs.in).
Examination Schedule:
- Written Examination: 26.05.2024 (Sunday)
- Departmental Assessment: 27.05.2024 (Monday)
- Examination Centre / Venue: ILBS, D-1, Vasant Kunj, New Delhi
The courses shall commence from 01/07/2024.
