Profile Summary: Provide technical assistance in laboratory activities for bovine disease research and diagnosis.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Provide technical assistance in (any or all) of the following laboratory procedures:
- Immunoassays such as ELISA, ELISPOT
- Process bovine clinical specimens for the detection and/or isolation of bacteria and viruses
- Molecular extractions (DNA, RNA, proteins)
- Molecular assays: PCR, real-time PCR
- Cell culture and cell-based assays
- Nucleotide sequencing work: Sanger sequencing, next-generation sequencing
- Standardize and validate new methodologies/assays
- Documentation and record-keeping for quality management systems as per international standards (ISO 9001:2015 & ISO/IEC 17025:2017)
- Provide other scientific, technical, and documentation assistance as needed.
Qualification & Experience: Post-graduation (M.Sc./M. Tech.) in Microbiology/Biotechnology/Biochemistry.

Other Essential Attributes and Skills:
Technical Skills:
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques, including bacterial culture, nucleic acid extraction, PCR, qPCR, ELISA, and cell culture.
- Basic understanding of biochemistry, including calculations for buffer and reagent preparation.
- Good communication and writing skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Managerial Skills:

- Work effectively in a team.
- Plan, schedule, and execute work assignments in a timely and effective manner.
- Strong aptitude for learning and research.
- Self-motivated, dedicated, and hardworking.
Remarks: This traineeship position is for a period of one year and can be extended for one more year.
