Advertisement for purely temporary Research Associate positions in Mission Innovation (MI), Department of Biotechnology (DBT) sanctioned research project

Applications are invited for Research Associate positions purely on a temporary basis for the implementation of the research project “Bio-chemical and technological innovations to develop high-value ‘green’ chemicals from 2G lignin and improve biorefinery sustainability” at IndianOil R&D Centre, Sector 13, Faridabad, Haryana. This project has been sanctioned under an open funding announcement issued by MI to invite project proposals on the identified key research area i.e. “Lignin Valorization.” The Government of India has given the responsibility to the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, to coordinate the Indian MI activities.

2 Nos. of Research Associate positions on a temporary basis are hereby advertised as per the requirements of the sanctioned research project grant and the MoA signed between DBT and IndianOil R&D Centre. The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year or until the tenability of the project/scheme, whichever is earlier, which can be curtailed/extended based on an assessment of the candidate’s performance and the discretion of the Competent Authority.

The requisite qualifications & experience, etc., are given below.

Research Associate (RA-III) (1 no):

Qualification: Ph.D. in Microbiology, Biochemistry, or Biotechnology.

Background and experience in the biological conversion of lignin into high-value products through microbial fermentation and microbial bioprocessing will be preferred.

Age Limit: The upper age limit is 40 years as of the last date of application.

Emoluments: As per DBT/DST norms and the available sanctioned research project grant.

General Information:

• Applicants with relevant experience/background only need to apply.
• The positions are purely temporary and co-terminus with the project/scheme. The initial appointment will be for one year or until the tenability of the project/scheme, whichever is earlier.
• Qualifications should have been obtained only through regular courses (not through distance mode or part-time) and from recognized university/institute. Candidates with an awarded degree will only be considered.
• Age relaxation up to 5 years in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/Women and 3 Years for OBC.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
