The lab is looking to recruit PhD students for two exciting projects: one on transport of proteins to the relict plastid of Toxoplasma gondii and the other on translation initiation and control of differentiation into latent stages in Toxoplasma gondii. This is an important human pathogen that affects almost 1/3rd of the human population!
The lab is a fun place to work, with many collaborative opportunities within the lab and with neighboring labs. My mentoring style is to support lab members to do well in their research, while also exploring the many professional opportunities on the IITB campus. Typically students complete their PhD in 5.5 years, with 3-4 papers, and go on to do well in a variety of careers, including academia, industry, start-ups, medical writing, etc.

Written Test
Candidates will have to answer questions choosing any 2 of the following subjects:
- Biology or Physiology (only one of them)
- Chemistry
- Physics
- Mathematics
- Engineering
The question paper for each subject will comprise of 15 questions 1 mark each.
