Job Purpose:
The Genomics Associate will join the Translation Sciences Genomics team and will be responsible for optimizing and performing qPCR-based next generation sequencing (NGS) assays, as well as NGS automation using liquid handlers to support programs. The ideal candidate should have experience in molecular biology, specifically in the handling of FFPE samples, NGS techniques, and high throughput genomics assays. The role involves genotyping, gene expression profiling (GEP), biomarker assay technology/platform selection, evaluation of in-house or vendor data, as well as the development, optimization, qualification/validation, and execution of NGS and qPCR-based assays for translational medicine and clinical programs. Strong
knowledge and experience in genomics and transcriptomics in clinical settings, as well as proficiency in NGS automation and familiarity with various disease areas, would be preferred.Key Responsibilities:
- Optimize, evaluate, and carry out genomics/transcriptomics assays for programs and collaborate for data analysis.
- Compare platforms for genomics/transcriptomics strategy in alignment with study requirements or capability development.
- Develop expertise and qualify to perform qPCR- and NGS-based assays for genotyping and gene expression.
- Develop and validate NGS- and qPCR-based assays.
- Develop methods for cell-free DNA and RNA assays from liquid biopsy.
- Participate in establishing the framework for genomics assay development, qualification/validation, and execution working with cross-functional teams.
- Validate and qualify NGS protocols in Automated Liquid Handlers for high-throughput requirements.
- Work on multiple projects, write reports, work instructions, SOPs, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with data analysis, sample management, and clinical operation teams.
- Participate in internal/external collaboration, portfolio management groups, clinical study, and biomarker execution teams.
- Provide subject matter expertise as required.
- Maintain accurate record keeping of experiments and procedures.
Educational Qualifications: M.Sc / M.Tech.
Technical/Functional Skills:
- Demonstrable experience and subject matter expertise in NGS-based genotyping or GEP application.
- Experience in genomics platforms (NGS, qPCR, variant analysis platforms) for assay development, qualification/validation, troubleshooting, and run QC data review.
- Familiarity with ctDNA analysis and GEP analysis technologies would be desirable.
- Understanding of genomics assay validation principles for clinical assays.
- Knowledge about technology-specific data structure, analysis, and QC.
