Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), Manipal invites applications for the following positions as detailed below for the ICMR funded research project titled “Validating the efficacy of novel formulations of in silico derived drugs that inhibit protein translation and Virgin Coconut oil in preclinical models of Parkinson’s disease” at the Centre for Molecular Neurosciences, Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal.
Position and details:
Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical) 2 positions
Qualification: Candidates with M.Sc. in Biological Sciences (Biotechnology / Bioscience / Physiology/ Pharmacology/ Molecular Biology/Biochemistry / Microbiology/ Zoology) or, M. Pharm in Pharmacology/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry/ Pharmaceutics with minimum 65% marks with consistently good academic record. Candidates with research experience or publication in the related area will be given preference. Candidates with less than 65% in their postgraduate degree including the integrated PG degree with PhD will also be considered.
Desirable: Expertise in Molecular docking, Bioinformatics, Medicinal Chemistry, Drug formulation, Animal Handling, Mammalian Cell Culture, Histopathology & Cell and Molecular biology, iPSC and genome engineering experiments.

Salary: Rs. 56,000 + 9% HRA (Rs. 5040) = Rs. 61,040 per month

Duration of the Project: 3 years (Initial engagement will be for one year, further extension would be based on the performance).
