The Foundation for Medical Research (FMR), a Public Trust and a well-recognized national research organization (SIRO) conducts basic biomedical, translational and public health research in the areas of infectious disease, environmental and community health. The Foundation invites applications for the following vacancies for an Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR)-funded extramural project “Evaluating Diagnostic Performance of SMaRT-PCR – a novel, non-invasive diagnostic workflow for detecting pulmonary tuberculosis in children” with a maximum duration of 4 years.
We are a dedicated team of researchers working on a project aimed at addressing the challenges faced in accurately detecting TB in children. We have developed a novel non-invasive diagnostic method called SMaRT-PCR for detecting pulmonary tuberculosis in children. This project focuses on evaluating the clinical utility of SMaRT-PCR and its diagnostic performance against standard diagnostic methods. Essential Qualification and Experience:
BSc Microbiology/Life Sciences/Biotechnology/ relevant subject + three Years’ experience. OR
MSc Microbiology/Life Sciences/Biotechnology/ relevant subject
Desirable Qualifications: Experience or interest in handling infectious samples and molecular biology techniques
Location: Mumbai
Scope of Work:
- Handling of samples collected from the participating health facilities.
- Processing of samples collected from health facilities.
- Conducting RT-PCR assays
- Collate lab results and prepare result reports
- Contribute to writing scientific papers for publication.
- Support any other work related to the project or other scientific/technical activities
Upper Age limit: 35
Duration: Initially for a period of one year extendable for further project period subject to satisfactory performance of the candidate Consolidated
Salary: Rs 28000 + HRA as admissible
