Job Description
Develop new and innovative products and manufacturing processes to meet customer needs. Modify existing products and processes to improve overall quality or costs. Develop or identify new and more cost-effective ingredients and production methods.
Responsibilities
- Manage projects and stakeholders effectively
- Apply product development principles and basic food regulatory understanding
- Create prototypes, conduct sensory and analytical evaluation, and benchmark market products
- Guide product development for customer approval
- Collaborate with production and QA team for trial runs and start-up operations
- Upscale lab trials to plant scale
- Work with cross-functional teams to meet project requirements
- Travel for product trials and evaluations
- Supervise product development technicians and maintain inventory
- Develop and audit product development assets
- Conduct shelf-life reports on ingredients and products
- Operate and maintain pilot plant equipment
- Ensure safety and standardize work procedures
- Establish HACCP plan for new products
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in food/dairy science or a related field
- 4-5 years of research and/or product development experience
- Preferred experience in cultured dairy products manufacturing
- Strong analytical and dairy component understanding
- Knowledge of Natural & Processed Cheese manufacturing technology
- Familiarity with food safety principles, HACCP, and quality systems
- Desire for growth and willingness to take on new challenges
- Ability to travel up to 20%
