Syneos Health is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Medical Editor II to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing quality control (QC) review and editing of various clinical trial documents, ensurin
g accuracy, clarity, and adherence to regulatory standards. Additionally, you will collaborate with the medical writing team and provide valuable feedback on document QC and editorial processes. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in life sciences, clinical sciences, or English/journalism, coupled with 2-3 years of experience in QC and editing of regulatory documents.Responsibilities
- Maintain familiarity with regulatory standards, including ICH-E3 guidelines, FDA, EU, and other relevant guidelines and industry standards
- Perform quality control (QC) review and editing of clinical trial documents
- Perform data integrity review of assigned documents against source data
- Ensure the accuracy of data and its reflection of source information
- Represent the editorial group in Medical Writing and on study teams
- Monitor timelines and budgets for assigned projects
- Provide feedback to the lead medical writer on document QC and editorial process
- Copyedit assigned documents according to established guidelines
- Manage assigned projects according to medical writing standards
- Continuously develop professional skills and knowledge
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, clinical sciences, or English/journalism preferred; or 7 years of related career experience in lieu of degree
- 2-3 years of relevant experience in QC and editing of regulatory documents
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong copyediting and data integrity review abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of AMA style guide preferred
- Familiarity with FDA and EU requirements, ICH regulations, and ISO standards
- Ability to work independently and within a team with strict deadlines
- Adaptable to changes in job duties and responsibilities
- Relevant publishing experience using Adobe Acrobat or other markup language preferred
