IIT Dharwad is an Institute of National Importance created by an Act of Parliament in 2016. To cater the Institute’s requirement under a project in the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, IIT Dharwad intends to hold an Online Selection Process for the following temporary position:

Position: Project Research Scientist -1 (Non-medical)

Number of Positions: 1

Project Code & Title: (IIRP/2023/1734) Development of a heavy waterbased Raman spectroscopic platform for identification of antibiotic resistant urinary tract infections

Qualifications:

1. First-class postgraduate degree including the integrated PG degree.
2. Second-class postgraduate degree, including the integrated PG degree with Ph.D.
3. For Engineering/IT/CS – First class graduate degree of four years.

Desirable qualifications: First-class degree in M. Tech or MSc. (Biotechnology/ Biophysics/ Computational biology/ Life-Sciences) with GATE or equivalent. Experience in spectroscopy, coding, microbiology, clinical sample handling.

Emoluments: Rs. 56,000/- per month + 18% HRA

Tenure of appointment: 1 Year

Job Description:

1. The selected candidate will be involved in research related to microbiology and Raman spectroscopy on uro-pathogens and clinical urine samples.
2. They will work closely with the current lab members.

Age Limit: Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of the selection process.
