Core Purpose of the Role
The Executive – Strategic Sourcing is responsible for ensuring timely supply of input materials to meet organizational standards and regulatory requirements. This includes sourcing raw materials, consumables, solvents, reagents, and other necessary items. The role involves interacting with internal and external stakeholders, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and maintaining safety and quality standards.
Role Accountabilities
- Submit RFQs with vendors and update raw materials cost sheets.
- Track purchase requests (PR) in SAP, maintain quote submission tracker, and proceed with orders.
- Source vendors globally for raw materials, consumables, and other related items.
- Support vendor safety audits and finalize annual rate contracts.
- Negotiate pricing, quality, INCOTERM, and delivery turnaround time (TAT) with vendors.
- Analyze spend data and provide monthly MIS support.
- Identify opportunities for executing annual rate contracts.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for licensing requirements.
- Perform vendor rating and maintain end user satisfaction.
Experience
- The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 4-7 years of experience in strategic sourcing within the pharmaceutical or CRO industry.
- Sound knowledge of chemicals, API, impurities, working standards, excipients, cell culture media, glass wares, and packing materials is required.
Technical/functional Skills
- SAP – MM module
- Good knowledge on Import regulations for licensed and restricted products.
- Knowledge on Customs and Excise procedures
- Negotiation skill and vendor development

Education
- B.Sc. in Chemistry, Microbiology, or Biotechnology (Chemistry as one of the subjects in the degree).
