Junior Research Fellow (JRF) – VIT Vellore

Applications are invited for the Post of Junior Research Fellow (JRF) for the DST-SERB Funded Project in the Centre for Bio Separation Technology, (SUR/2022/000594), Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), Vellore.

Title of the Project: Combating Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in Vibrio sp. by targeting vibrio antibiotic resistance (var) regulon: Structural and Biochemical characterization of var regulon activator (VarR) and metallo-beta-lactamase (VarG) in V.cholerae and V.vulnificus

Qualification: M.Tech/M.Sc. in Biotechnology/ Bioinformatics/ Biochemistry/ Life science

Desirable Skills: Candidates with experience in molecular cloning, protein expression, purification, and X-ray crystallography can apply. Preference would be given to those with a strong bioinformatics background, including homology modeling, virtual screening of compounds, 3D-QSAR analysis, docking, MD simulation, and proficiency with Linux OS. Candidates who perform well may have the opportunity to transition to Ph.D. coursework as per university norms.

Stipend: With GATE/NET qualification:

• Rs. 31,000/ + HRA (Rs. 2480) per month (1-2 years)
• Rs. 35,000/ + HRA (Rs. 2800) per month (3rd year)

For candidates without GATE/NET qualification, the stipend will be as per Institute norms.
