University of Mumbai Research Job for Biotech, Biology, Mol Bio, Biochem – Apply

The University of Mumbai-Department of Atomic Energy Centre for Excellence in Basic Sciences (UM-DAE CEBS) is located on the Kalina campus of the University of Mumbai. Job Position: Research Associates (RAs)

The UM-DAE CEBS is inviting applications for the position of Research Associates (RAs) in the School of Biological Sciences. There are two positions available for individuals with a background in Biotechnology, Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, or Applied Biology.

The selected Research Associates will be working on the following projects:

1. Project Title: Stress biology and biotechnology of Deinococcus radiodurans and Anabaena
2. Project Title: Querying the interplay of the Flagellar Proteome with Epigenetic control of Stress-induced Gene expression in Chlamydomonas

Essential Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Applied Biology
• At least two publications in peer-reviewed research journals, with at least one as the first author

Experience

• Good knowledge of modern biology
• Research experience in microbiology and recombinant DNA techniques
• Detailed knowledge and proficiency in recombinant DNA technology (desirable)

Age Limit: The candidate should not

Number of Positions: 2

Tenure: The position is offered on an annually renewable basis and is tenable for up to three years.

Emoluments: The remuneration for the position will be in the range of Rs. 47,000 – Rs. 54,000 per month, depending on the candidate’s post-Ph.D. research experience. HRA (House Rent Allowance) will be provided as per rules.

Duties and Responsibilities: In addition to working in the Biology laboratory at CEBS, the Research Associate will be required to teach a course and/or conduct practicals at CEBS as part of their duties.
