Advertisement for Post-Doctoral Fellowship Position
The Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, invites applications from outstanding and enthusiastic researchers for a post-doctoral position under the mentorship of Dr. Sachin Suresh Tiwari (Assistant Professor, Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering). The focus of the position is on the “Analysis of Chlorogenic acid’s effect on cellular survival in models of Dementia.”
Prospective candidates are expected to have a Ph.D. with specialization in any field of modern life science and a background in rodent model handling, behavioral analysis, or brain stereotaxic surgery. Experience with brain immunohistochemistry or recombinant DNA technology will be considered an added advantage. Candidates should also have publications in peer-reviewed journals. In addition to research in this specific area, candidates are expected to be involved in other academic responsibilities as deemed fit by the department.
Minimum Qualification and Experience:
- PhD (completed) in any field of modern life science with emphasis on neuroscience or neurological conditions.
- Strong background in rodent model handling/behavioral analysis/brain stereotaxic surgery.
- Basic expertise in brain immunohistochemistry or recombinant DNA technology or proteomics/transcriptomics approaches.
- At least one first author research article published in a reputed journal.
- Excellent speaking and writing skills in English, and experience in manuscript writing.
Duration and Fellowship Amount:
Duration of fellowship: 2 years (extendable by one more year).
Fellowship amount: Rs 55,000 per month for the first two years, and Rs 60,000 per month for the third year (if extended). Additionally, a contingency amount of Rs 50,000 per year will be awarded to the Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF).

Note:
- Post-doctoral fellows will be registered as students and may avail facilities such as hostel accommodation, library, computer center, and hospital facilities, based on availability.
- Only shortlisted candidates will be interviewed, either through an on-site or online mode, as deemed feasible.
- This position is purely temporary.
