Junior Flavourist
Location: Dhanaura, Uttar Pradesh, India (On-site)
Job Purpose (General Nature/Overview):
Being a flavorist requires creativity, in addition to an above-average sense of taste and smell. Flavorists have a good memory for scents. Motivation, patience, and a willingness to experiment are also important. Flavorists must have the ability to work well in a team environment because they often rely on others to give them feedback on flavors.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Work in the lab to create flavour systems using various scientific applications and creative thinking.
- Collaborate cross-functionally within the organization to accomplish business-critical initiatives.
- Perform daily tasks and manage assigned projects.
- Create new flavour creations or modify existing flavours to meet customer requirements, internal testing needs, or new technology development for multiple flavour types.
- Contribute to discussions of research plans, sensory results, experimental observations, and related technologies.
- Assist Flavourist in creating matching flavours for B2B clients.
- Transform existing flavours as per requirements.
- Develop taste and odour profiling skills of flavour products to describe them.
- Ensure that delivered flavour products comply with regulations and meet client expectations.
- Prepare flavour samples as requested for customer briefs, applications, technology performance assessments, quality control standards, and physical testing, among others.
Competences: Understanding of chemistry, strong olfactory & gustatory senses, creativity, analytical skills, and intuition.
Qualification: Graduate or Postgraduate with Engineering/Diploma/Management (Food Technology, Biotechnology & Flavor Technology) or relevant field.
Experience: 3-7 years of relevant experience in flavours industry, Chemical Industry.
Skills:
Flavour creation and evaluation, research & development, HACCP, GMP, GLP, analysis exposure – GC, HPLC, UV, Karl Fischer Titration, Soxhlet fat Analysis.
Other Factors (if any):
- A degree in food science, chemistry, or a related field.
- Knowledge of raw materials and flavor ingredients.
- Good sensory skills.
- Strong knowledge of flavors chemistry and sensory science.
- Experience in flavors creation or related fields such as product development, food processing, or research and development.
- Creativity and innovation in developing new and unique flavor concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Application-oriented approach.
- Willingness and ability to learn fast.
- Able to work independently.
- Adapt to changes and priorities due to customer requests.
