The DBT-Institute for Stem Cell Science and Regenerative Medicine (DBT-inStem) is an Autonomous Institution of the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. The institute invites applications for the position of Research Associate in the laboratory of Dr. Srinivasarao Repudi, Scientist – E at DBT inStem.

Post: Research Associate – 01

Qualifications:

Students who recently completed their Ph.D (or Ph.D thesis submitted) in Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Stem Cell Biology, and Neurobiology/Neuroscience with a strong publication record and research experience in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, and Neurobiology are preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

Our lab at DBT-inStem, under the theme of Modelling Neurodevelopment and Disease, focuses on understanding Neuron and Glia development and their cross talk in brain development and disease. The selected candidate will be responsible for dissecting the cellular and molecular mechanisms leading to neurodevelopmental defects associated with single gene mutations. This involves the use of primary cultures and human

brain organoids generated from CRISPR edited Embryonic Stem Cells or patient-derived iPSCs. The candidate should have experience in cloning, proximity labelling/coimmunoprecipitation, CRISPR-Cas9 technology, ChiP, FACS, culturing primary neural stem cells & neurons, and Immunofluorescence.

Pay Scale: As per Govt. norms based on experience and qualification

Age limit: Below 35 years as on 20/10/2023

Tenure: Contractual appointment for one year, renewable based on requirement and review of progress
